A Prairie in Austin walking tour
Join Tom Drebenstedt—a Natural Area steward for Chicago Park District, lover of Humboldt Park, and Frank Lloyd Wright Trust volunteer—on a walking tour of Columbus Park, where early 20th-century landscape designer Jens Jensen set out to cultivate appreciation for the plants, topography, and vistas of the northern Illinois prairie for city-dwellers. The route is approximately 3/4 mile, but the terrain is hilly with uneven surfaces of flagstone and lawn, wear appropriate shoes.
